Event: Police Local engagement day Contact Lindsay Sweetman Photos: See below! The Story: After putting on session at Welshpool Leisure centre for a stag party, the leisure centre put a video clip of this session on their Facebook page. The video had over 500 views in 2 hours (and loads of likes, obviously!) and one of those views was from PC Lindsay Sweetman. Lindsay got in touch as she could see the appeal to children and young adults which was just what she was looking for. She was planning to put on an event in Welshpool which would attract local children for a few hours of activities so that Lindsay and colleagues could interact and get on with the local children from 11-18. They were looking to be seen on a more down to earth level getting away from the children's usual view of them in uniform. This sounded like a really good idea in plan and turned out to be in practice. With the local leisure centre booked again, some food, drink, bubble football and play/interaction with the local children on the Easter holidays, the event proved a real success. Lindsay was pleased with the results as there was a good turn out and "The children loved the bubbles".Advertising the bubbles did a great job of attracting the young people to the event. The Police staff then did the job of chatting to the kids being careful not to knock too many over with the bubbles! This is the second time we have helped Lindsay and the team with this event and hopefully it will grow again for next year. Photos below:
